To support up-and-coming young riders in our club (LCC) a fund has been set aside to assist a limited number of selected riders. Hopefully for some of these selected riders, the LCC Youth Team this could be a stepping stone leading to future inclusion in a professional cycling team. 

Funds to support this initiative are from the club, sponsors and fund raising that will take place from time to time to support this cause. 

There are three tiers of supported riders each one offering various benefits to the rider.

The selection of five riders in each of the three riders is taken after careful consideration by the LCC Committee. 

With the following criteria being used: 

Tier 1: Riders that have placed high in National, Regional and School Championships and have finished on the podium. Points scored in the Club Championship will also be a factor. 

Tier 2: Selection will also be on merit, based on the previous year’s results plus points earned in the Club Championship.

Tier 3: Will consist mainly of potential future podium finishers and lower point scorers from the previous year. 

The selected rider and parents will need to complete a contract that explains the finer details of the various tiers.
