On Tuesday 27 January 2026 we held our Annual General Meeting and each Committee member reported on their portfolio.
With sale of Lynnwood Cyclery, the decision was made that before the sale was made, we would move our club finances out of the shop books, which was convenient when we were still a small organisation and later we continued with this but paid the shop an admin fee for bookkeeping and banking services. The Club now has it own FNB account and manages its own finances. The balance in the Club account (in Lynnwood Cyclery) was transferred to the Club account in December 2025.
Last year we had and income of R772 000 and an expenditure of R828 000, leaving us a shortfall of R56 000, which was funded from the previous year’s surpluses.
The majority of the club income is from membership fees but sponsorship (Demacon) brings in around R100 000, which is earmarked mainly for the Youth Racing Team – which is why their shirts carry the large Demacon Logo.
The majority of the club expenses are to trail partners, which goes towards covering the cost of the Annual LCC Membership bands, which give access to their trail parks.
We continue to support Rosemary Hill, Hazeldean Valley, and with Grootfontein’s closure we have added Die Bosveld. Road riding is supported with the cost of fuel and drivers for follow vehicles (one for each of the two groups which ride regularly).
Marshalls earn their red-sleeved marshal shirts (and replacements if they keep up their duties over a two year period) and, depending on how many times they marshal per year, they also qualify for annual membership discounts.
We also elected a new Management Team for the Club. Obviously Andy and Andre are no longer committee members and one of our faithful Club members, Leonard Shaw – Vice Chairman, stepped down from the committee. At the AGM we added Anton and Mari Lourens and Erwin Sterne to the Management Team. Our Constitution states that Committee Portfolios (incl Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer) are elected by the management team at their first Committee meeting.

At the beginning of February we put out our first Members Survey for the year – and we will share info form this in the months to come. Thank you for you input.
One of the additional Club benefits we are trialling this year is to do group rides at different venues.
Apart from Die Bosveld (where we have free entry for 2026), we want to do rides at Wolwespruit, Hennops River, Taroko Trails, Northern Farm, Suikerbosrand, etc. At those rides, participants will have their day passes sponsored (often in part, sometimes in full). Note that this will only be for pre-arranged group rides, and we will notify you of these when we post rides but will give a weeks warning for these rides so travel time can be added to your morning scheduling.
