From fitness to friendships: Our year so far

We’re already half way through the year and it’s been a fantastic start. Mostly good weather has ensured some great consistency in our weekly guided rides, allowing many to build not only good fitness, but also build strong friendship bonds with fellow club members.

We pride ourselves on the good reputation we have as a club. Be sure to ride with lights as we move into shorter daylight hours and continue to show respect for other road and trail users.

See you on the tar, gravel and trails!

Club Rides

Our Saturday morning rides are weekly highlights for most members and we’re grateful for the phone snaps that capture these memories.

As we move into autumn and winter, we still get some great weather but the days are getting shorter, so be sure to invest in decent lights. If you don’t have lights or need to upgrade, Lynnwood Cyclery stocks a wide range.

Racing

Beyond our weekend rides and vibrant community spirit, LCC consistently makes its mark on the racing scene. Our members regularly line up at major events, earning podium finishes and showcasing the strength, dedication, and camaraderie that define our club.

LCC’s Jaedon Terlouw, racing for Toyota Specialized Imbuko, came agonisingly close to winning the 2026 Cape Town Cycle Tour. After his Ride Joburg 2025 triumph, he was a favourite—but Ryan Gibbons surged in the final 200m. Sitting up too soon, Gibbons nearly lost it as Jaedon’s sprint fell just short, finishing second by a fraction!

MOONHOWLER NIGHT RIDE

Join our weekly night ride for a fresh mountain biking experience!
Wednesdays at 6:00 pm.

Start at Linton Corner Shopping Centre in front of Mugg & Bean. Currently one Group covering about 35-40km at around 18-20kph average speed.

Charge your lights and have your LCC 2026 band or cash for the bike parks that we may enter.

For more info, contact Jindra Cibulka on 082 6532852.

PLEASE NOTE!

You need a front light that can hold about 1000 lumen for at least 2 hours. A head lamp is not a requirement but helps especially if your main light has a narrow beam or you need to see to the sides. It’s also a good backup.

A flashing rear light is required while we on the public roads but we switch them off or set them to non-flash when on the trails.

Weekend Away

One of the benefits of Club Membership is that we plan Club Weekends through the year at some of the best trails destinations. Club members also receive a 10% discount on accommodation – and non-members/non riders are welcome, but pay the full price.

Summerplace Weekend: 6-8 November

Support and Sponsors

A big Thank You to our club sponsors, DEMACON and Lynnwood Cyclery, whose generous support has helped support our Youth Racing Team with racing kit. We will soon release our Limited Edition LCC adult racing kit for adult members who are podium contenders at races in order to give our sponsors a bit more exposure.
